Job Summary
To support the design and licensing of reactors, the contract Senior Safety Methods Engineer will develop system-level thermal-hydraulic analysis methods, perform steady-state and transient analyses, and collaborate across disciplines, with both onsite and remote work options available for exceptional non-local candidates.
Key responsibilities
- Develop methods for Licensing Basis Events (LBE) analyses to support reactor design and licensing
- Perform system-level thermal hydraulic analyses and integrate closure models into existing frameworks
- Document methodologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with safety analysis workflows
Required qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in system-level thermal hydraulic modeling and method development for nuclear or complex energy systems
- Experience with thermal hydraulic analysis tools such as RELAP5 3D or GOTHIC
- Strong foundation in thermal fluids and reactor system behavior, particularly in advanced reactor designs
- Familiarity with scientific programming and workflow automation using Python or MATLAB
