Senior Scientific Data Engineer

Job Summary

Providing technical expertise to support scientific data generation and computing systems, the full-time Senior Scientific Data Engineer will analyze complex requirements and design scalable solutions for laboratory operations, data analysis, and project management, while working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Translate complex scientific and operational requirements into functional specifications and system designs
• Design, develop, deploy, and support core systems, including Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Data Warehouse/Data Lakehouse
• Lead the resolution of complex technical challenges and drive system improvements to ensure high-performance platforms

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
• Experience with data engineering and event-driven technologies such as Airflow or Kafka
• Strong knowledge of software and data engineering fundamentals for large-scale production systems
• Proficiency in Python and experience with additional programming languages
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and collaborate with stakeholders on project goals
