Job Summary

Driving the engineering vision for Payments, the full-time Senior Staff Software Engineer will architect and evolve the core Payments platform, lead cross-team initiatives, and ensure technical standards for financial correctness in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the technical strategy for Payments, supporting new products and significant growth in payment volume
• Architect the Payments platform for high availability and efficiency, leading the design and rollout of large initiatives
• Provide mentorship to senior engineers, enhancing system design quality and fostering a strong engineering culture

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems
• Expertise in money movement architecture and backend programming (e.g., Python, Go, Java)
• Proven track record in designing high-performance systems
• Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives and mentoring engineers
• Strong ability to distill complex technical concepts into actionable solutions
