Job Summary
Working remotely on a contract basis, the Senior Structural Analyst will perform mechanical analyses of reactor structures and components, ensuring compliance with structural codes and standards while collaborating with an interdisciplinary engineering team.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct mechanical analyses of reactor structures and nuclear components to verify performance within defined limits
- Collaborate with engineers to optimize nuclear component designs and maintain documentation of analysis results
- Mentor team members and assist management in maintaining quality standards through peer reviews
Required qualifications
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear, or Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- 8+ years of experience with a B.S. degree, 5+ years with an M.S. degree, or 3+ years with a Ph.D. degree
- Proficiency in finite element stress analysis and tools, particularly ANSYS and SolidWorks
- Strong understanding of solid mechanics, fracture mechanics, and fatigue failure
- Experience with pressure equipment design codes and standards such as ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
