Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Angular-NodeJS-FullStack) will build, support, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard application while designing and maintaining RESTful APIs for healthcare EDI transactions in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a cloud-based Web Dashboard application and RESTful APIs for healthcare EDI transactions
• Collaborate with back-end engineers to define API contracts and ensure reliable data delivery across services
• Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews while applying best software engineering practices within an Agile framework

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with a strong back-end focus in Java and/or NodeJS
• Proven experience building RESTful APIs that consume and transform structured healthcare data
• Hands-on Angular experience with the ability to integrate APIs and contribute to front-end components
• Working knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud services, including API Gateway and Lambda
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
