Job Summary

A healthcare company is searching for a person to fill their position for a Telecommute Hospital Medical Coder III in Stockbridge.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to patient records using ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM and any other designated coding classification system in accordance with the UHDDS coding guidelines
• Assigning procedural categories as applicable
• Maintaining or exceed established coding accuracy and productivity standards

Skills and Requirements Include:

• Extensive knowledge of ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM and ICD10-PC, MS-DRG’s and POA Assignments coding principles and guidelines
• Knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, techniques and surgical procedures; anatomy and physiology; major disease processes; if applicable pharmacology; and the metric system
• Knowledge of reimbursement systems, as well as federal, state and payer-specific regulations and policies pertaining to medical documentations, billing and coding
• Knowledge of Standards of Ethical Coding
• Skill and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Skill and ability to research and analyze data, draw conclusions, and resolve issues
