Job Summary

A consulting firm is searching for a person to fill their position for a Telecommute Inpatient Coder in the Houston Area.

Core Responsibilities Include:

• Assigns correct DRG's with coding accuracy rate of 95% or greater
• Performs coding and abstracting on inpatients medical records
• Performs abstracting of coding and clinical data

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 1 year inpatient coding experience
• Must have one of the following credentials: RHIT or RHIA or CCS through AHIMA OR CPC, CPC-H through AAPC
• Requires a good understanding of ICD-9 coding (diagnosis and procedure) and inpatient guidelines
