Job Summary

A packaging company has a current position open for a Telecommute IT Database Administrator.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:

  • Provides Operating System, Database performance tuning & query optimization
  • Responsible for providing mentorship to team members and other IT groups where applicable
  • Implements, maintains & monitors appropriate database security

Required Skills:

  • Travel: Less than 5%
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum 5 years administering Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008 R2 or Oracle databases in a 24/7 environment
  • Experience supporting purchased software packages running on Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience obtaining support from Internet sources of vendor support for software products
