Job Summary

A social media company has an open position for a Telecommute Production Engineer.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Writing & reviewing code, developing documentation & capacity plans & debugging the hardest problems, live
  • Sharing an on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for service incidents
  • Owning back-end data warehouse services like Presto or Spark & front-end services like Messenger and Newsfeed

Must meet the following requirements for consideration:

  • Engineering degree, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years experience with operating systems and TCP/IP network fundamentals
  • 6+ years experience coding in higher-level languages (e.g., PHP, Python, C++, or Java)
  • 6+ years experience in configuration and maintenance of applications such as web servers, load balancers, relational databases
