Job Summary
An internet company is searching for a person to fill their position for a Telecommute Search Engineer.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Utilizing experience in Elasticsearch, Solr, and Lucene
- Utilizing knowledge of scaling search systems
Position Requirements Include:
- Must be able to meet with the whole company once a year for seven days, as well as, a few team meet-ups
- Great programming skills in both dynamic and compiled languages (especially PHP and Java/Scala)
- Experience with Open Source search systems: Elasticsearch, Solr, Lucene
- Knowledge of scaling search systems: high volume indexing and querying
- Understanding how to combine and build signals from many sources to create and evaluate novel search algorithms
