Job Summary
A nonprofit is in need of a Telecommuting Aging Service Medical Coding Specialist in Lincoln.
Must be able to:
- Analyze and abstract pertinent clinical information from elder/client records
- Assign appropriate ICD-10 codes and sequences them appropriately
- Query medical/nursing staff when code assignments are not straightforward
Qualifications for this position include:
- Flexibility to work from home several days a week. Also works indoors in a facility maintained by company
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmaceuticals, medical terminology, disease processes and ICD-10 coding required.
- CCA certification preferred - must be willing to obtain certification within one year of employment
- Works beyond normal scheduled hours and on weekends and holidays when assigned
