Job Summary

A nonprofit organization has an open position for a Telecommuting Criminal Legal Advocacy Counsel.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Assisting in the planning, preparation, and presentation of legal proceedings
  • Developing internal protocols for the organization's criminal case work
  • Providing training to other departments and external agencies on animal cruelty investigations

Position Requirements Include:

  • 40-50% travel required
  • Trial and/or appellate practice experience
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a criminal prosecutor or criminal defense lawyer
  • Working knowledge of criminal law and procedure
  • Familiarity with national animal welfare issues
  • Familiarity with animal cruelty laws
  • Doctorate- Law (Required)
