Job Summary
A university is in need of a Telecommuting Librarian.
Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Providing virtual reference services (including phone, email, and chat)
- Fostering an understanding of information literacy skills among faculty members
- Selecting, assessing, and managing collections with an emphasis on e-resources
Qualifications for this position include:
- Occasional travel for meetings, visits to campus locations, or conferences may be scheduled
- Master’s degree in library science from a program accredited by the American Library Association
- Experience providing reference services in virtual and face-to-face modes
- Excellent skills with various library technologies including database and Internet searching
- Experience with content management and learning management systems and other current library and web-based tools
