Position responsibilities:
Partner with industry leading pharmaceutical clients and collaborate with tenured professionals in the medical communications industry in order to provide strategic direction and content development
Creation of scientific content for disease states including advisory boards, speaker training, virtual meetings, abstracts, manuscripts and posters, sales training materials, slide decks, as well as other medical communications initiatives.
Attend congresses and professional meetings to maintain relationships with clients and opinion leaders and remain up-to-date across therapeutic areas and competitive landscapes
Understand current industry guidelines (CMJE, GPP2, Sunshine Act)
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to assure high quality, accurate medical/scientific content
Initiative to gain necessary background on product and/or therapeutic category
Interact with faculty, clients and/or other key opinion leaders
Work collaboratively with management and other teams to ensure the highest quality work regarding medical education and communication strategies necessary for new-business opportunities and existing work.
Participate in new business development process
Requirements:
Qualified individuals will have 3+ years of experience in a medical communications agency environment and/or pharmaceutical/biotech industry with a background in promotional and publication programs/projects
Advanced degree in the life sciences (PhD, MD, Pharm D, MS degree)
Strong scientific acumen and ability to quickly learn new therapeutic areas, experience in cardiovascular, diabetes, respiratory a plus
Ability to oversee and mentor junior scientific staff
Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
Understanding of AMA guidelines
Content development & oversight experience that would include original and review manuscripts, abstracts, posters, oral presentations, executive summaries, and publication plans.
Computer Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Office 365 experience a plus
Ability to travel and attending meetings
