Job Summary

A human resource consultancy is seeking a Telecommuting Underwriter III.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Performing analysis and appraisal of a broad range of insurance applications
  • Providing mentoring to Underwriting Specialist with complicated cases and customer escalations
  • Determining underwriting requirements and considers all factors which may impact insurability including but not limited to financial and medical information

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or demonstrated consistent success in prior Underwriting role as evidence by satisfactory case management and quality reviews
  • ~8+ years of professional experience in Underwriting – Life Insurance underwriting experience is a must
  • Strong analytical skills with proven record of decision making on complex cases and applying sound judgement in the application of guidelines and rules
  • Superior written and oral communication skills with an ability to handle confidential information, exercise tact, diplomacy and resourcefulness
  • Computer proficiency and ability to work efficiently yet quickly to meet goals in an independent production environment
  • Flexibility and ability to adjust in a continuously changing work environment
