Job Summary
A human resource consultancy is seeking a Telecommuting Underwriter III.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Performing analysis and appraisal of a broad range of insurance applications
- Providing mentoring to Underwriting Specialist with complicated cases and customer escalations
- Determining underwriting requirements and considers all factors which may impact insurability including but not limited to financial and medical information
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or demonstrated consistent success in prior Underwriting role as evidence by satisfactory case management and quality reviews
- ~8+ years of professional experience in Underwriting – Life Insurance underwriting experience is a must
- Strong analytical skills with proven record of decision making on complex cases and applying sound judgement in the application of guidelines and rules
- Superior written and oral communication skills with an ability to handle confidential information, exercise tact, diplomacy and resourcefulness
- Computer proficiency and ability to work efficiently yet quickly to meet goals in an independent production environment
- Flexibility and ability to adjust in a continuously changing work environment
