Job Summary
A well-known health insurance company is filling a position for a Telecommuting Workers Compensation Senior Staff Attorney in the Austin Area.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
- Preparing complex pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions and briefs in support of defense strategies
- Analyzing complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research
- Researching, drafting, filing and arguing appellate briefs in reviewing courts on behalf of clients
Skills and Requirements Include:
- Travel 10 % of the time
- Minimum 5+ years law practice within the insurance defense industry dealing with complex workers' compensation matters
- JD from accredited law school and license to practice in the state of Texas
- Experienced Worker's Compensation attorney
- Experience handling WC Administrative process including BRCs and CCHs
- proficiency with Microsoft Office products and familiarity with Lexis Nexis, and working within a document management system
