Thermal Hydraulics Engineer

Job Summary

To support the sodium-cooled Natrium Reactor project, the contract Core Thermal Hydraulics Engineer will perform thermal-hydraulics analysis, develop calculation products, and deliver analytical reports while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform thermal-hydraulics analysis using in-house subchannel software to evaluate reactor core scenarios
• Develop and verify calculation products in accordance with quality assurance policies and procedures
• Support the test program and contribute to methodology development and analysis for the Natrium Reactor project

Required qualifications

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Nuclear, or relevant Engineering from an accredited university
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in thermal hydraulic analysis with a B.S. degree, or 8+ years with an M.S. or Ph.D. degree
• Extensive experience in nuclear systems thermal-hydraulic behavior and analyses
• Proficiency in advanced liquid metal-cooled nuclear reactor core design and analysis software
• Strong understanding of uncertainty quantification, verification, and validation techniques
