Job Summary
To support the sodium-cooled Natrium Reactor project, the contract Core Thermal Hydraulics Engineer will perform thermal-hydraulics analysis, develop calculation products, and deliver analytical reports while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Perform thermal-hydraulics analysis using in-house subchannel software to evaluate reactor core scenarios
- Develop and verify calculation products in accordance with quality assurance policies and procedures
- Support the test program and contribute to methodology development and analysis for the Natrium Reactor project
Required qualifications
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Nuclear, or relevant Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in thermal hydraulic analysis with a B.S. degree, or 8+ years with an M.S. or Ph.D. degree
- Extensive experience in nuclear systems thermal-hydraulic behavior and analyses
- Proficiency in advanced liquid metal-cooled nuclear reactor core design and analysis software
- Strong understanding of uncertainty quantification, verification, and validation techniques
