Job Summary
A company is looking for an Underpayment Analyst to ensure accurate compensation for hospital services.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine hospital claims to verify proper reimbursement and resolve discrepancies
- Contact insurance companies to obtain missing information and arrange for payment processing
- Maintain thorough documentation of underpayment issues and participate in process improvement discussions
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with healthcare billing, coding, and reimbursement methodologies
- Familiarity with payer policies, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial insurance guidelines
- Experience with healthcare billing software and databases (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, Meditech)
- Understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing healthcare reimbursement, such as HIPAA and CMS regulations
