Job Summary
Managing all aspects of indemnity claims handling, the full-time Wisconsin Licensed Claims Examiner will oversee a caseload of up to 150 workers' compensation files, ensuring compliance with state laws and company guidelines while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Initiates and investigates claims, determining compensability and administering benefits
- Manages medical treatment and billing, authorizing as appropriate, and communicates with claimants and providers
- Settles and finalizes claims, maintaining accurate documentation and reserves within company guidelines
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience
- Three or more years of related experience in claims handling
- Technical knowledge of statutory regulations and medical terminology
- Ability to manage complex claims independently and effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
