A health services company is in need of a Telecommute Outpatient Medical Coder. Must be able to: Code a minimum average of 10 Outpatient encounters per hour with 95% accuracy. Accurately perform the full scope of outpatient multi-specialty coding. Follow site-specific coding guidelines.
Candidates will be responsible for the following: Reviewing medical records for the determination of accurate assignment of all documented diagnoses and procedures. Demonstrating ability to achieve accuracy and consistency in the selection of principal and secondary diagnoses.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree. Minimum of 3 years coding in a hospital setting with experience in Outpatient facility coding. Must have experience in regulatory issues related to Medicare and other third party payers. Require RHIA, RHIT and /or CCS.
