Qualifications for this position include: CCS certification. 3+ years of experience coding a variety of inpatient records. Experience coding for a Level 1 Trauma hospital and/or Teaching facility. Experience coding highly complex cases typical of a trauma facility.
Must be comfortable in attending clinical department meetings as needed. Expertise in coding complex surgical areas such as Neurosurgery, Vascular, Cardiovascular, etc. Experience working in a university facility setting or a large trauma/teaching hospital. CPC or CGSC certification.
Must have at least five years strong IP Coding experience, preferably in a teaching hospital. Must have AHIMA certification. Must have worked in a large acute care facility. Must have experience coding critical care patients including transplants, spinal fusion, sepsis, and neurology.
Completing any other assigned tasks. Skills and Requirements Include: Must have 5+ years’ Inpatient/Outpatient auditing experience. Must have at least 3 years’ experience in Teaching Level I or Level II Trauma. Must be experience with multiple EHR systems. Must be AHIMA certified.
