A/R Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

Following up on unresolved claims, the full-time A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage insurance carrier communications, research claim issues, and ensure payment resolutions in a remote capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up on unresolved claims and check claim status through phone calls and insurance websites
• Identify reasons for non-payment and take actions to resolve issues for payment or closure of balances
• Assist with patient balance follow-ups and complete additional assigned duties

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of A/R follow-up (insurance collections) experience is required
• Experience in medical billing and hospital claims preferred
• Strong problem-solving and research skills with a detail-oriented approach
• Prior office experience emphasizing problem-solving and research is necessary
• Ability to summarize important details concisely in account notes
