A/R Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage follow-ups on aged, unresolved claims with insurance carriers, conduct research on claim issues, and ensure resolution to facilitate payment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up on unresolved claims and check claim status through phone calls and insurance websites
• Identify reasons for non-payment and take appropriate actions to resolve issues
• Assist with patient balance follow-ups and complete various special projects as assigned

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of A/R follow-up (Insurance Collections) experience is required
• Medical billing experience is helpful, with a preference for hospital claims and healthcare receivables experience
• Prior office experience involving problem solving and research is necessary
• Ability to summarize important details concisely in account notes
• Familiarity with computer systems and a reliable home internet connection is required for remote work
