A/R Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage follow-ups with insurance carriers on aged claims, research insurance issues, and resolve payment discrepancies.

Key responsibilities

• Following up on unresolved claims and checking claim status via phone and insurance websites
• Identifying reasons for non-payment and taking appropriate actions to resolve issues
• Assisting with patient balances and completing various special projects as assigned

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of A/R follow-up (Insurance Collections) experience is required
• Medical billing experience is helpful, with a preference for hospital claims and healthcare receivables experience
• Prior office experience where problem solving and research were key to success
• Ability to summarize important details concisely in account notes
• Familiarity with computer systems and remote work requirements, including a reliable internet connection
