A/R Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

To support the revenue cycle, the full-time A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage aged, unresolved claims by following up with insurance carriers, conducting research on claim issues, and resolving payment discrepancies in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Following up on unresolved claims and checking claim status through phone calls and insurance websites
• Identifying reasons for non-payment from payers and taking appropriate actions to resolve issues
• Managing patient balances as assigned and completing additional duties as required

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of A/R follow-up (Insurance Collections) experience is required
• Medical billing experience is helpful; hospital claims and healthcare receivables experience preferred
• Prior office experience with a focus on problem solving and research
• Ability to summarize important details concisely in account notes
• Familiarity with computer systems and remote work requirements
