A/R Follow Up Specialist
Job Summary
Following up on aged, unresolved claims, the full-time A/R Follow Up Specialist will work remotely from Monday to Friday, conducting research with insurance carriers and resolving payment issues to ensure proper closure of accounts.
Key responsibilities
- Follow up on unresolved claims and check claim status using phone calls and insurance websites
- Identify reasons for non-payment and take appropriate actions to resolve issues
- Manage patient balances as assigned and perform additional duties as needed
Required qualifications
- 2+ years of A/R follow-up (insurance collections) experience required
- Medical billing experience is helpful; hospital claims experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and identify patterns for informed decision-making
- Prior office experience with a focus on problem solving and research
- Proficient in summarizing important details in account notes
