A/R Follow Up Specialist
Job Summary
Working remotely full-time, the A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage follow-ups with insurance carriers on aged, unresolved claims, research insurance issues, and take appropriate actions to resolve claim discrepancies from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Key responsibilities
- Following up on unresolved claims and checking claim status through calls and insurance websites
- Identifying reasons for non-payment and taking actions to resolve issues leading to payment or closure
- Handling follow-ups on patient balances as assigned and performing other related duties
Required qualifications
- 2+ years of A/R follow-up (Insurance Collections) experience is required
- Experience in medical billing and hospital claims is preferred
- Strong problem-solving, research, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively
- Prior office experience where problem-solving and research were key to success
