A/R Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage follow-ups with insurance carriers on aged claims, conduct research on insurance issues, and ensure resolution of payment discrepancies.

Key responsibilities

• Following up on unresolved claims and checking claim status through phone calls and insurance websites
• Identifying reasons for non-payment and taking actions to resolve issues leading to payment or closure of balances
• Following up on assigned patient balances and completing special projects as needed

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of A/R follow-up (Insurance Collections) experience is required
• Medical billing experience is helpful, with a preference for hospital claims and healthcare receivables experience
• Prior office experience where problem solving and research were essential
• Ability to summarize important details concisely in account notes
• Familiarity with computer systems and the ability to work independently on competing priorities
