A/R Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage follow-ups on aged, unresolved insurance claims, research issues with insurance companies, and ensure proper resolution to facilitate payments.

Key responsibilities

• Following up on unresolved claims and checking claim status through calls and insurance websites
• Identifying reasons for non-payment and taking appropriate actions to resolve issues
• Handling patient balances as assigned and performing various special projects as needed

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of A/R follow-up (Insurance Collections) experience is required
• Medical billing experience is helpful; hospital claims and healthcare receivables experience preferred
• Proven problem-solving and research skills in a relevant office environment
• Ability to summarize important details concisely in account notes
• Prior computer experience is required, with flexibility to work on competing priorities
