Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage aged, unresolved claims by following up with insurance carriers, researching issues, and ensuring timely payments.
Key responsibilities
- Follow up on unresolved claims and check claim status through phone calls and insurance websites
- Identify reasons for non-payment and take actions to resolve issues, ensuring closure of insurance balances
- Assist with patient balance follow-ups and participate in various special projects as assigned
Required qualifications
- 2+ years of A/R follow-up (insurance collections) experience is required
- Experience in medical billing and hospital claims is preferred
- Strong problem-solving and research skills with a focus on organization
- Prior office experience where problem-solving was essential
- Ability to summarize important details concisely in account notes
