A/R Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage follow-ups with insurance carriers on aged claims, conduct research on insurance issues, and ensure resolution of claim problems within the revenue cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Following up on unresolved claims and checking claim status through calls and insurance websites
• Identifying reasons for non-payment and taking appropriate actions to resolve issues
• Handling patient balances as assigned and completing other related duties as needed

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of A/R follow-up (Insurance Collections) experience is required
• Medical billing experience is helpful; hospital claims and healthcare receivables experience preferred
• Prior office experience with a focus on problem solving and research
• Ability to summarize important details concisely in account notes
• Prior computer experience is required
