A/R Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage follow-ups with insurance carriers on aged claims, research issues related to payment delays, and ensure resolution of claims to facilitate timely payments.

Key responsibilities

• Following up on unresolved claims and checking status through phone calls and insurance websites
• Identifying reasons for payment delays and taking appropriate actions to resolve issues
• Managing patient balances as assigned and completing other related duties as necessary

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of A/R follow-up (insurance collections) experience is required
• Medical billing experience is helpful, with a preference for hospital claims and healthcare receivables experience
• Prior office experience involving problem solving and research is necessary
• Ability to summarize important account details concisely in notes
• Familiarity with computer systems and a reliable home internet connection is required for remote work
