Job Summary
To build and scale a global sourcing and distribution operation for used and academic books, the full-time remote Academic Book Procurement & Logistics Lead will manage the entire procurement lifecycle, oversee international logistics, and implement inventory management systems while developing strategic partnerships across the academic ecosystem.
Key responsibilities
- Build and manage a global network of suppliers, developing procurement strategies for efficient sourcing of academic books
- Oversee end-to-end international logistics, ensuring timely and cost-efficient movement of inventory while maintaining quality standards
- Implement inventory management systems and optimize cataloging processes to track stock levels and ensure fulfillment accuracy
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in used-book, academic publishing, library acquisitions, or book distribution industries
- Proven track record in sourcing large volumes of academic books across multiple countries
- Strong established network with universities, libraries, wholesalers, and used-book marketplaces
- Deep expertise in international logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain operations
- Hands-on experience with inventory management systems and used-book grading standards
