Accessibility Specialist
Job Summary
Seeking a strategic Accessibility Specialist for a remote, full-time position, who will lead accessibility modernization efforts, conduct audits, and implement frameworks to enhance compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 standards across digital products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead accessibility audits to identify systemic issues and enhance compliance across the platform
- Address high-impact accessibility issues and implement remediation strategies for reusable components
- Develop a prioritization framework for accessibility issues to guide backlog prioritization and engineering investments
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 requirements
- Hands-on experience with accessibility testing technologies such as NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in software development environments
- Proficiency in evaluating web applications using both automated and manual accessibility testing methods
