Job Summary
Providing specialized technical leadership, the part-time Accessible Greenhouse Design Expert will develop a national accessible greenhouse design standard, conduct site assessments, and ensure the adaptation of greenhouse units for persons with disabilities, all while working remotely for up to 11 months.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct structured technical assessments at pilot institutions to identify infrastructure constraints and user needs for accessibility
- Develop technical specifications for accessible greenhouse units based on international standards and agronomic compatibility
- Provide technical quality assurance for the commissioning of pilot units and guide the development of a disability-adapted training curriculum
Required qualifications
- Advanced university degree in agricultural engineering, horticulture, architecture, civil engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant international professional experience in greenhouse design or controlled-environment agriculture
- Demonstrated experience in accessible or universal design for persons with disabilities
- Working knowledge of English at a professional level
- Experience developing technical design standards or specifications in the agricultural sector
