Accountant

Job Summary

To support a growing nonprofit organization, the remote Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, manage general ledger tasks, and assist with audits while ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and record financial transactions on the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Manage the accounts payable cycle and reconcile bank statements and other accounts
• Support internal and external audits, identifying areas for improvement in internal controls

Required qualifications

• 4 years or more of related experience in accounting
• Experience using QuickBooks Online or comparable accounting software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs, with advanced spreadsheet skills
• Strong understanding of GAAP, preferably with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Comfortable using AI tools to support accounting workflows
