Accounting Consultant

Job Summary

Leading critical revenue and membership accounting functions, the remote Accounting Consultant will oversee the monthly close processes and ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards for a Fortune 500 healthcare organization on a contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee assigned portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring accuracy and timely execution
• Review and approve complex journal entries and high-risk reconciliations, including revenue and intercompany accounts
• Partner with FP&A on forecasting, trend analysis, and variance explanations while serving as a primary contact for audit inquiries

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
• Prior experience leading or reviewing complex close areas
• Experience with accounting and finance systems such as PeopleSoft and SmartView/Essbase
