Accounting Manager

Job Summary

Supporting a service-based organization, the Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting activities, guide one direct report, and ensure accuracy in a high-volume transaction environment on a long-term contract basis, fully remote from Tampa, Florida.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
• Supervise and support a staff accountant, providing direction on daily accounting tasks and priorities
• Manage general ledger activity, including reviewing entries and maintaining the integrity of financial records

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close and general ledger management
• Prior experience in an Accounting Manager or senior-level accounting role with supervisory responsibility
• Strong background in account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and financial statement production
• Experience supporting financial statement audits and preparing audit-ready documentation
• Hands-on experience with SouthWare Excellence Series is a must-have
