Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

Ensuring the timely collection of outstanding government or commercial healthcare insurance receivables, the full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist II will verify patient eligibility, update insurance information, and conduct research on unpaid claims while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Verify or obtain patient eligibility and authorization for healthcare services
• Conduct research and status updates on unpaid or denied claims
• Contact payers to secure payment of claims and prepare appeal letters as needed

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least two years of experience in healthcare insurance accounts receivable follow-up
• Experience identifying billing errors and resubmitting claims
• Knowledge of accounts receivable practices and third-party payer billing procedures
• Demonstrated ability to navigate accounts receivable software and Microsoft Office
