Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure prompt and accurate payment for services rendered, the remote Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage insurance and patient billing processes, make inquiries to various stakeholders, and maintain documentation of claims while adhering to compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Make telephone calls to patients, hospitals, insurance companies, and other parties to research claims and obtain necessary information
• Follow up on unpaid claims and self-pay accounts to minimize aging accounts and ensure timely payments
• Document account activity in the claims processing system and perform quality checks on assigned claims

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare claims processing, billing, or accounts receivable
• Hands-on experience with insurance appeals and familiarity with ICD-10 and HCPCS
• Proficiency with billing software and payer portals
• Strong investigative and research skills to resolve complex billing issues
