Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient billing processes, the remote Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage insurance and patient billing, ensuring prompt payment and maintaining accurate records while meeting productivity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Make calls to patients and insurance companies to research claims and obtain necessary information
• Follow up on unpaid claims and self-pay accounts to minimize aging accounts
• Document account activities in the claims processing system and perform quality checks on assigned claims

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare claims processing or billing
• Hands-on experience with insurance appeals and understanding of remittance advices
• Familiarity with ICD-10, HCPCS, and medical terminology
• Proficiency in using billing software and payer portals
