Job Summary
Ensuring timely collection of outstanding healthcare insurance receivables, the full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist II will verify patient eligibility, update insurance information, and conduct research on unpaid claims while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Verifies patient eligibility and authorization for healthcare services through various methods, including online searches and phone calls
- Conducts research on unpaid or denied claims and secures necessary medical documentation for third-party insurance carriers
- Contacts payers to secure payment of claims and prepares appeal letters for technical appeals when necessary
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least two years of experience in healthcare insurance accounts receivable follow-up
- Experience with accounts receivable software and navigating payer sites for appeals and claims follow-up
- Knowledge of medical business office procedures and third-party payer billing practices
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with payers and document encounters accurately
