Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

To support healthcare organizations, the full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage patient eligibility verification, claim status research, and payment resolution while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Verifies patient eligibility and authorization for healthcare services through various systems and communication with insurance providers
• Conducts research on unpaid or denied claims, updating patient information and following up with payers to secure payments
• Prepares appeal letters and ensures compliance with relevant laws and guidelines while managing claims processing

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least two years of experience in healthcare insurance accounts receivable follow-up with hospitals or insurance payers
• Experience in identifying billing errors and resubmitting claims, as well as reviewing EOB and UB-04 forms
• Knowledge of accounts receivable practices and medical business office procedures
• Proficiency in accounts receivable software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
