Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

To support independent healthcare providers, the full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage follow-ups with insurance payers on outstanding claims, resolve payment obstacles, and accelerate cash collections while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up and collect on accounts in assigned inventory, utilizing strategies to resolve claims and obtain payment
• Document client interactions and status codes in Ovation's workflow tool to ensure accurate tracking of claims
• Write appeals for denied claims and escalate trends to management for further assistance

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in hospital insurance collections is a plus
• 3-5 years of collections experience specifically for hospital claims
• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG preferred
• Experience with direct account follow-up and/or billing
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel preferred
