Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure the timely collection of outstanding healthcare insurance receivables, the full-time remote Accounts Receivable Specialist II will verify patient eligibility, update insurance information, and conduct research on unpaid claims.

Key responsibilities

• Verify or obtain patient eligibility and authorization for healthcare services through various methods
• Conduct research on unpaid or denied claims and monitor claims for missing information
• Contact payers to secure payment of claims and write appeal letters for technical appeals

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least two years of experience in healthcare insurance accounts receivable follow-up
• Experience identifying billing errors and resubmitting claims
• Knowledge of accounts receivable practices and third-party payer billing procedures
• Demonstrated ability to navigate accounts receivable software and Microsoft Office
