Job Summary
Providing essential financial counseling services to military service members and their families, the remote Personal Financial Counselor will manage short-term, surge, and on-demand situations, offering one-on-one counseling, workshops, and educational resources.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families
- Coordinate and provide a variety of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops on relevant topics
- Utilize virtual counseling methods and maintain communication with installation leadership regarding trends and issues
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, or an associate degree with 4 years of experience, or a high school diploma with 6 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- Must possess one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
- Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
