Job Summary
Working remotely on a contract basis, the ACL Firewall Engineer will leverage advanced firewall technologies and security principles to develop secure network environments, supporting critical VA operations and safeguarding sensitive data.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain firewall policies to ensure compliance with federal security standards
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement and manage ACL configurations across VA networks
- Conduct ACL audits and assist in incident response related to firewall security events
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering with 10+ years of IT experience, or 18+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Experience designing, implementing, and managing firewall ACLs for network security
- Knowledge of federal security standards and compliance requirements
- Ability to collaborate effectively with network engineers and security personnel
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
