Job Summary

A company is looking for an Acquisition Editor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Signs a minimum of 22-25 books per year and ensures profitability
  • Refines overall strategy, performs market research, and analyzes sales results
  • Champions projects throughout the publication lifecycle and manages project and schedule follow-up

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum five years of experience in publishing, specifically with acquisitions
  • Ability to apply financial understanding of publishing to the overall strategy
  • Ability to analyze potential authors and projects and shape them for an audience
  • Ability to negotiate contracts, schedules, and other efforts
