Acquisitions Editor

Job Summary

To support a mission-driven publishing environment, the full-time Acquisitions Editor will identify and develop biblically faithful resources, cultivate relationships with authors and literary agents, and manage projects from concept to completion, while working in a hybrid capacity within a four-hour driving commute of Brentwood, TN.

Key responsibilities

• Identifies and pursues potential authors and book proposals that align with the publishing vision
• Evaluates proposals for theological alignment and market viability, presenting ideas to inspire new projects
• Champions acquired titles internally and negotiates contract terms with authors and literary agents

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, Christian studies, or a related field required
• Master's degree in process or completed; seminary degree strongly preferred
• 1+ years of editorial and publishing experience
• Advanced ability in relationship building with authors and agents
• Working knowledge of biblical evaluation and manuscript assessment for theological accuracy
