Actuarial Analyst

Job Summary

Supporting actuarial efforts in data analysis and Excel modeling, the remote Actuarial Analyst will assist with monthly reserving and medical expense forecasting while collaborating on special projects across functional teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Support lead actuary on monthly reserving and quarterly medical expense forecasts for Optum's Home & Community population
• Conduct and evaluate studies on utilization and health care costs, projecting expected medical expenses
• Perform mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling to provide management with statistical findings and conclusions

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field
• Successful completion of 1 or more actuarial exams
• Data analysis experience
• Expertise in MS Excel, including working with large tables of data and formulas
• Basic proficiency in SAS, SQL, R, or similar programming languages
